Board Cutting Ceremony to Mark RONA Olds' Grand Opening
Boucherville, Québec, September 19, 2024 – RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating and servicing some 425 corporate and affiliated stores, celebrates the grand opening of the RONA Olds store located in Central Alberta. Dealer owners Garth and Charmaine Dagg and Sheldon Foss, joined by leaders from RONA’s Dealers Support Team, partners as well as store employees gathered at the store on September 19, 2024, for the traditional board cutting ceremony.
“We believe that RONA can help us achieve our goals to expand our service offering to contractors, buidling loyalty among our DIY customers, and have a strong retail presence in the market. The company has tools, programs and a great team to support us throughout our journey and with our growth plans,” mentions Garth Dagg, dealer owner, RONA Olds.
Founded in 2007, the store was acquired last January by local entrepreneurs’ couple Dagg and their partner, Foss. Seeking to associate with a strong brand, the new owners chose to join the RONA network following their acquisition. With this new partnership, they were able to invest over $1,000,000 to expand their retail space from 10,000 sq. ft. to over 16,000 sq. ft., allowing them to fully benefit from RONA’s extensive offering.
The new owners added new seasonal and hardware products to their assortment, while increasing their selection of lumber and building materials to better serve local contractors and homeowners alike. The store is also now offering to its contractor customers the benefits of RONA’s VIPpro Program giving them access to a strong network as well as preferred pricing and priority service. Well known in the municipality of Olds, Garth & Charmaine Dagg and Sheldon Foss are very involved in their community and are committed to supporting programs aimed at helping local youth.
“I’m very pleased to have the three of them among our network of RONA affiliated dealers. It’s an honour to accompany them in building the store of their dreams and put together the business model they have been hoping for,” says Alain Ménard, Senior Vice-President, RONA Affiliated Dealers at RONA inc.
