Community involvement

Just like brick and mortar come together to form a solid wall, we believe that combining our efforts is the key to building stronger communities.

Our major campaigns

Children's Miracle Network and Opération Enfant Soleil

RONA is proud to be a major partner of Children's Miracle Network and Opération Enfant Soleil since 2018. With this association, we contribute to the essential work of these organizations that provide meaningful assistance to sick children and their families in Canada by supporting 14 children's hospitals across Canada. Our sixth annual campaign takes place in-store and online from March 27 to April 28, 2023.

Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau

Since 2018, we have been supporting the Charles-Bruneau Foundation as a Diamond Partner of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau. Thanks to the generosity of our RONA and Réno-Dépôt customers and the involvement of the cyclists part of the RONA team, we presented the Charles-Bruneau Foundation with a total of $3,400,000 to support pediatric cancer research, making a difference in the lives of thousands of children.

RONA Foundation

The RONA Foundation raises funds to help improve the quality of life of vulnerable populations regarding access to essential needs and to help revitalize the living environments of the communities in which it operates. Thanks to our vendors’ generosity during our Golf Day held on July 18, 2022, we were able to present a total of $450,000 to two charities: the Véro & Louis Foundation and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Our local campaigns

The Heroes campaign

The Heroes campaign gives employees from our network the opportunity to get involved in their communities by supporting a local non-profit organization of their choosing. Throughout September, employees raise money in stores to help these organizations fulfil their mission or carry out a specific project. At the end of the campaign, we match 50% of customer donations, up to $2,000 per store.

In 2019, we received a Philanthropic Leadership award at the Retail Council of Canada’s Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala for our Heroes campaign, which helps transform neighbourhoods into communities.

An engaged head office

As a leading employer on the South Shore of Montreal, we find it important to get involved locally and contribute to the development of the communities where a significant number of our head office employees and their families live and work. To this end, we support various local organizations through volunteer activities, donations, and sponsorships.

Holiday cheer at our head office, a tradition since 2017

Since the beginning of our collaboration with Opération Père Noël in 2017, more than 2,200 employees from our Boucherville and Terrebonne distribution centres and our head office have brightened the holiday season for some 4,000 underprivileged children in Québec!

Founded in 1995 by Normand Brault and Thérèse Guillemette, the mission of Opération Père Noël is to bring the magic of the holidays to underprivileged children or children who no longer have a family when they see on the morning of December 25 that Santa Claus has brought them a gift they had asked for. Each year, Opération Père Noël works with partner organizations and receives thousands of letters from children and sends them to generous Santas who pledge to offer one of the requested gifts.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all our Santas!

Habitat for Humanity

We are proud to help provide safe and affordable housing to many Canadian families through our involvement with Habitat for Humanity Canada. Since 2007, we have donated a total of over $4 million in cash or material donations to this life-changing organization.
