New Sherbrooke RÉNO-DÉPÔT store officially opens

  • An investment of more than $4.5 million and a team of 175 employees
  • Indoor lumberyard with drive-through and the most important cutting room in Estrie
  • Enhanced services and extended hours for contractors

Boucherville, QC – December 7, 2017 – Lowe’s Canada celebrates today the grand opening of its 22nd Réno-Dépôt store in the country, located at 3400 de Portland Boulevard in Sherbrooke. This former Entrepôt RONA converted to the Réno-Dépôt banner is the result of an investment in excess of $4.5 million. To provide retail customers, contractors and professionals with an unequalled shopping experience, the store underwent a major 12-week transformation which involved redesigning all departments, new racking, enhanced offerings and branding conversion.

“The Sherbrooke Réno-Dépôt is a one-of-a-kind concept that combines the essence of a conventional Réno-Dépôt store, the value-added RONA products and services that our local customers love, and new product categories, particularly in the appliances and seasonal departments,” said Guy Beaumier, Executive Vice President, PRO and Réno-Dépôt. “Thanks to store manager Jean Prince and his seasoned team focused on customer service, we are convinced that this new Réno-Dépôt will win over consumers in the region and quickly position itself as the destination for cutting renovation costs in Estrie.”

Strategically located in the heart of Carrefour de l’Estrie, the new Sherbrooke Réno-Dépôt boasts about 83 000 square feet of retail space, including a drive-through covered lumberyard of 23 000 square feet and a 16 700-square foot garden centre. The new store, which currently employs 175 people, is in line with the company’s aim to provide consumers in the Sherbrooke area with an enhanced home improvement offering.

Retail customers and professionals benefit from an enhanced products and services offering
In addition to the full range of products available at renodepot.com through the Click-Buy-Renovate program, Sherbrooke Réno-Dépôt customers will have access to over 25 000 products in store, including a wider selection of home appliances. This product category is growing fast in Réno-Dépôt stores across Quebec and includes major brands such as KitchenAid, Frigidaire Pro, GE Café, and Cavavin. In all, 9 000 new products will be introduced in the home appliance, seasonal, flooring, interior finishing, finish plumbing, kitchen, and landscaping departments.

Furthermore, the Sherbrooke Réno-Dépôt includes specialty departments for building supplies, doors and windows, bathrooms, plumbing, heating, hardware, storage, and paint. In terms of service, the store is home to the most important cutting room in Estrie and allows customers to submit special orders and take advantage of the AIR MILES™ rewards program.

Contractor and professional customers benefit as well. In addition to a dedicated customer service counter, truck deliveries to work sites and charge accounts, they also have access to a reserved entrance that will now open at 6 a.m., Monday to Saturday.

Support for the local community
Today, local dignitaries and Reno-Depot’s executives joined store employees in celebrating the grand opening trough an official board-cutting ceremony and a community grant presentation. A $5,000 donation was made to local charity La Grande Table to modernise kitchen equipment so the organisation can continue providing meal services to children and families in need.
