New offerings for DIY and contractor customers

$2,000 charitable donation to the Tillicum Centre

Boucherville, QC – June 7, 2018 — Lowe’s Canada is proud to celebrate the grand opening of the new RONA Hope store located at 451 Corbett Street in Hope, British Columbia. Owned since June 2017 by the RONA affiliate dealer Fraser Valley Building Supplies (FVBS), the store has been relocated to a larger building to provide local customers with an enhanced product selection and overall offering.

"At Fraser Valley Building Supplies, we have a long tradition of service to the communities where we are present. We have been in the home improvement business for over 25 years and we owe our success to the dedication of our teams who always put our customers first," said Ray Cyr, President of Fraser Valley Building Supplies. "We are extremely proud of our new and larger RONA store, which allows us to bring our shopping experience to the next level with the addition of a drive-through outdoor lumber yard and brand new product categories such as appliances and farm and pet food."

The relocation of the RONA Hope store represents a local investment of $3 million and created 10 new jobs. The new store features a 7,500-square foot retail area and offers 15,000 products to the local community, including a wide selection of lumber and building materials. In addition to the
5,000-square foot indoor building materials section, the store now features a vast drive-through outdoor lumber yard, which is sure to please the store’s DIY and contractor customers. Local customers can also enjoy the range of industry-leading RONA services such as online shopping on rona.ca with click-and-collect or parcel delivery options and the RONAdvantage program.

"At Lowe’s Canada, helping our affiliate dealers thrive is a constant priority. We always rejoice in our dealers’ success and are immensely proud to see everything Ray and his team have accomplished since Fraser Valley Building Supplies purchased the corporate RONA Hope store a year ago," said Philippe Element, Divisional Vice-President, RONA Dealers. "FVBS is known for its outstanding customer service and strong contractor expertise. With this new store, they are strengthening their leadership in the Fraser Valley market and building on their tradition of excellence."

Today, local dignitaries joined the RONA Hope team and the store’s customers to celebrate the grand opening through a traditional board-cutting ceremony and community grant presentation. RONA Hope donated $2,000 to the Tillicum Centre to support their day programs for adults with special needs. This amount includes the proceeds from a fundraising BBQ held today at the new RONA Hope store.
