About the Fondation Charles-Bruneau

The mission of the Fondation Charles-Bruneau is to give all children living with cancer the best chances of recovery by funding research and supporting projects dedicated to pediatric hematology-oncology. The two objectives that guide the Fondation Charles-Bruneau are finding a cure for the 20% of children whose cancer is resistant to treatment, and improving the quality of life of children in remission so that they can enjoy a true recovery, free of side-effects and complications.

Since its creation in 1990, the Fondation Charles-Bruneau has distributed close to $100 million to the four Québec university hospital centres that care for young cancer patients (CHU Sainte-Justine, Montreal Children’s Hospital, CIUSSS de l'Estrie-CHUS, and CHU de Québec-Université Laval), for the creation of Charles-Bruneau units and centres, and to fund research into pediatric cancers. The Fondation Charles-Bruneau is proud to be the largest funder of pediatric hematology-oncology research in Québec.

In Québec, 100% of children diagnosed with cancer are treated at a Charles-Bruneau centre or unit.
