In-house tool brings every shade of the rainbow online for our customers

Need paint but can’t go to the store? No problem! At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, RONA was the first home improvement retailer to allow customers to select and order paint online for curbside pickup.

With customers adapting to a lockdown environment and turning to e-commerce for their home improvement shopping (hello, DIY quarantine projects), we saw an opportunity to evolve and meet their needs in a unique way. By collaborating closely with the Sico® team and our customer service, and digital teams, our marketing and IT teams launched this project in record time—only a month after the pandemic restricted in-store shopping.

To take care of the entire buying experience, from selecting colour palettes, reviewing product lines, virtual staging, to the final purchase, our developers came up with a brand-new ordering system featuring a massive paint colour matrix.
